Metrolinx Construction Notice November 3, 2026
Topic: Tree Removals at Yonge St. and Royal Orchard Blvd. and Yonge and Clark Ave.

Timing: Weekdays, 7:00AM to 5:00PM
What is happening?
To support future construction of the Yonge North Subway Extension, crews working on behalf of Metrolinx will be removing trees from properties near Yonge Street and Clark Avenue. This includes areas along Yonge Street south of Morgan Avenue, and along Clark Avenue, Morgan Avenue and along Glen Cameron Road east of Yonge Street. This is necessary to prepare the area for further site clearing work to accommodate future construction of Clark Station. Crews will also be removing trees from along Yonge Street south of Royal Orchard Boulevard and along Royal Orchard Boulevard. This is necessary to prepare the area for further site clearing work to accommodate future construction of Royal Orchard Station.
Work Details
– Protective fencing will be installed around trees, where needed, before work begins.
– A total of 53 trees will be removed within the work area at Yonge St. and Clark Ave. will be removed.
– A total of 51 trees and other vegetation within the work area at Yonge St. and Royal Orchard Blvd. will be removed.
What to Expect?
– You may hear noise from equipment and trucks, including loaders, chainsaws, and woodchippers, while work is underway.
– Additional site clearing may happen as work continues to progress.
– Work may be rescheduled or extended due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
Traffic Changes
– There are no anticipated impacts to traffic.
Pedestrian Access
– Work areas will be clearly marked and/or fenced off as required to keep everyone safe.
– Pedestrians should exercise caution around the work area.
Transit Service
– There is no anticipated impact to transit services.
