What is happening?
Deep Bench Monitoring Boreholes (DBMs) equipment installation
Crews on behalf of Metrolinx will be conducting some short borehole drilling at the northeast corner of Yonge Street and Steeles Avenue to prepare for the future tunnelling of the Yonge North Subway Extension.
Work will be starting February 4 and is anticipated to take approximately one week to complete. The work will take place on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Building Demolitions at Yonge Street and Steeles Avenue
To support the future construction of the Yonge North Subway Extension, the southeast corner of Yonge Street and Steeles Avenue East will serve as a key site for future construction laydown space. The Metrolinx project team has confirmed that demolitions are slated to begin in mid-February for the commercial plaza, located at 6369 Yonge Street, 6991 Yonge Street & 6995 Yonge Street.
Residents can expect to see some limited crew activity on site in early-February, with demolitions to formally begin by mid-February.
