City of Markham Pre-Design Notice July 30, 2025

Topic: Pre-Design Notice: Glynnwood Tributary Area Storm Sewer System

Schedule: design process begins July 30, 2025

What is happening?

The City of Markham is starting the design process for the “Glynnwood Tributary Area Storm Sewer System” to build a solution that will address flooding issues in the area. Work is expected to include an upgrade to the existing storm sewer system, as well as potential new elements including an oil grit separator, improved channel, plunge pool (water energy dissipation structure), and retaining wall. This project will be based on findings from the Environmental Assessment (EA) Study completed in August 2023.

The City has retained AECOM Canada to provide consulting services for this project.

City staff will continue to keep residents updated and address their concerns throughout the design process. The construction schedule will be shared after the design is completed and approved. Notices will be sent to impacted residents at the completion of the design to provide updates about the process and pending construction.

We understand that this work may cause some inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience as we work to upgrade the storm sewer system, ensure public safety, and preserve environmental features.
